BSS All Night Long

BSS is the musical alias of Amsterdam producer and DJ Luigi Vittorio Vromen. On 2 January 2024, he closed De Nieuw in Het Muzieklokaal at De School, at a New Year’s celebration that seemed never-ending. During Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary festivities on 21 June, he also performed his live show in the Main Hall, and not long after, the nostalgic Amsterdam-born BSS was given ‘the most prominent closing slot of the Lowlands night’. In his set on Friday night in the Bravo, the DJ frequently returned to classics he often plays, such as New Order’s Blue Monday, Floating Points, and Joy Orbison’s hit flight fm. His eclectic sets and productions move between ’80s minimalism, synth percussion and electro, always with a deep sense of musical history and a love for modular synthesis. Especially for Paradiso he created an EP built from live fragments, interviews and public recordings – a personal tribute to the place that helped shape his musical development. Now he is ready for the next chapter: an all-night-long performance in Paradiso’s Main Hall.
